Cullerne House is a stone house in Findhorn, Moray, Scotland. It is beside Cullerne Garden and close to The Park Ecovillage, woodland, dune heath, Findhorn Bay and the Moray Firth.
What Cullerne House provides
Cullerne House has three distinct public offers:
- venue hire for workshops, retreats, meetings, training, group sessions and community gatherings;
- individual bed and breakfast accommodation; and
- listings for confirmed public workshops and events taking place at the house.
These are separate visitor journeys. Hiring the venue, booking a B&B stay and attending a public event use different availability and booking arrangements.
Venue hire
Facilitators, practitioners, organisations and community organisers can hire one room, combine several rooms or enquire about full-house hire for a larger or multi-day programme.
The four bookable spaces are:
- Garden Room: the main workshop and gathering space, for up to 20-25 people.
- Studio Room: a smaller workshop, meeting or breakout space, for up to 12-14 people.
- Gathering Room: a small-group workshop or meeting space, for up to 9 people.
- Kitchen: available for cooking workshops, food preparation or agreed catering use. The person responsible for cooking or food preparation must provide evidence of a valid and current Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene certificate.
Room capacities depend on the activity and layout. The rooms, times, equipment and other arrangements included in a booking are confirmed in writing.

Full-house hire and group accommodation
The full house may be hired for a multi-day workshop or retreat. A full-house booking can include three shared bedrooms accommodating up to nine people in total. The actual number depends on the room and occupancy arrangement agreed for the booking.
For larger groups, Cullerne House can help organisers identify accommodation with independent hosts in the Findhorn area. External accommodation is subject to each provider's availability, prices and booking conditions and is not included automatically in the Cullerne House hire price.
Catering may be possible with 6-8 weeks' notice, subject to availability and written agreement.
Bed and breakfast
Ruby and Emerald are the two rooms available for public online B&B booking. Both are twin rooms on the first floor and are reached by two flights of stairs. A self-service, continental-style vegetarian breakfast is included in the current tariff. The minimum stay is currently two nights.
Individual B&B availability and booking are handled through Freetobook. The B&B booking system is separate from venue hire and from the public venue-availability calendar.

Workshops and events
The Workshops & Events page lists confirmed public activities taking place at Cullerne House. Each listing identifies the organiser and provides the relevant information or booking route. Participants book with the organiser rather than through the venue-hire enquiry form.
Venue organisers may also ask about a Cullerne House event listing and additional promotion through agreed channels. Any promotional service, price and deliverables are agreed separately. Promotion does not guarantee registrations or attendance.
Availability and booking systems
The public Teamup calendar shows potential venue availability. It does not make or confirm a reservation. Venue bookings are agreed separately in writing by the Cullerne House management team.
Freetobook is used only for individual B&B availability and bookings. It is not used for workshop-room or full-house venue hire.
Access, travel and facilities
The workshop rooms are on the ground floor. The B&B rooms are on the first floor and are reached by two flights of stairs. Visitors with access requirements should contact Cullerne House before booking so that the entrance route and relevant facilities can be discussed.
A small number of free parking spaces is available in front of the house. Parking cannot be guaranteed. Free Wi-Fi is available for normal use.
Forres is the nearest railway station. Inverness Airport is the nearest airport; Aberdeen Airport is another option with onward rail travel. Visitors should check current transport timetables before travelling.

Relationship with the Findhorn Foundation and Community
Cullerne House has longstanding historical and present connections with the Findhorn Foundation and Community.
The house was owned by the Findhorn Foundation during the 1980s and 1990s. From 2000 to 2020, long-term community member Marion Leigh used Cullerne House as her family home and as the base for Findhorn Flower Essences. In 2022, the house was bought by a group of owners connected with the Findhorn Foundation and Community.
Cullerne House Ltd is a separate business. Cullerne House should not be confused with the Findhorn Foundation, The Park Ecovillage, Cullerne Garden or another Findhorn organisation. Venue hire does not include Cullerne Garden or facilities operated by other organisations unless a separate arrangement is made directly with the relevant operator.
